Shaker Style Kitchen

Brief

To design a modern shaker style kitchen that is fully bespoke and incorporates everything from the customers wish list and design, whilst maintaining all features of modern day living.

Solution

A traditional but modern take on a shaker-style kitchen. Working with the customer’s brief, we wanted to do our upmost to incorporate everything that they wished for whilst making sure that there was no compromise on the overall design and practicality of the furniture. We wanted to create different zones within the kitchen to compartmentalise this extensive space whilst subtly linking it together through the overall design. For example, we used symmetrical pot cupboards either side of the Wolf cooker and installed a faux chimney breast above to create a visual cooking area. We then suggested a walk-through double door cabinet for the pantry so that it matched the rest of the kitchen even though it was a fair distance away from the main kitchen area. By working very closely with this customer’s design, we were able to produce a kitchen that is functional yet still beautiful and made their vision come to life.

What the client said

James is a delight to work with. His craftsmanship and attention to detail are second to none.  By nature, he always goes above and beyond.  James dealt with all my grand designs drawn on scraps of paper, last minute changes and hair brained ideas increasing workload with good grace and enthusiasm. I had my boot-room made by a known local company at the same time and the quality between that and the kitchen James made is unbelievable. In short, I couldn’t praise James’s work more highly or recommend him more.
